I think I paid $6CA for Rimmel Glam Eyes Mascara. I chose it out of all the brands because it looks really cute ^^ Ice pink and black reminds me of something very Lolita...

I trudged through a two-week trial with this mascara, and I have to say that I dreaded using it more each day because it was such a terrible mascara. I guess it's true that mascaras are a very personal beauty product because I read a few other reviews on it and it isn't as scathing as this one. The formula was very dry and flaked a little bit even as I was applying--and somehow, each day the formula seemed dryer than the last! It kills my curl in the first 3 hrs--as I kind of expected it would anyway since it's nonwaterproof--but in its falldown, it also made my lashes muss together and look very messy. It wasn't at all volumizing and it was hard to apply more than two coats because it would clump together and give you spider legs across from the lashes (see right eye).
This mascara was a complete miss for me. If it wasn't for its cute packaging, I think I would have thrown it out long ago...but now it sits on my dresser looking cute, princessy, and ... utterly useless.

From what I have been able to gather, Rimmel mascaras are really all "misses", rather than "hits", lol. What would you say is the HG mascara for you?
I used Rimmel mascara a few years ago and felt the same way - dreaded each time I used it. LOL. Time to get something new and better!

I never sound enthusiastic in my reviews except for the Castledew base lol. And it's cheap too, around CA$ 7? heheee~
MAC and benefit have super high mark ups in Malaysia... the other brands are still okay. Oh wow, I didn't know that MAC is a Canadian company!!! So unfair right??? Hmph from now on I won't buy MAC here anymore!
How much does the Shu/Shiseido curlers costs in Canada? If I'm not mistaken, the Shiseido curler is cheaper in Singapore, plus it had 20% off so I snapped it up =D
Ahhh Shiseido is cheaper in Singapore. It retails for CA$ 14. Shu is the same in both countries -.-
I've been using non waterproof mascaras ever since I started using mascaras. I noticed smudging but that's easily rectified with a mascara base. I think the mascara base that I'm using is waterproof? Lemme check. Oops, everything's in Japanese, Idk if it's waterproof or not.
Hmm what the MUAs said do make sense. In fact I find my lashes getting sparser after using eyeliners that are difficult to remove.
Are you planning on using any lash enhancers? I did notice some improvements after using mine for a bit but I got lazy and stopped using it ;D

I have this but in the volume version, and I really like it! It gives me rich colour, length and quite nice volume...though I have to make sure there's not too much product on the wand before applying. LOL You're absolutely right, makeup is such a personal thing...

Yeah, I can understand the appeal of the pretty pink packaging... thank god I know how bad it is so i won't be suckered into buying it...
OMG.. haha I feel the same way about this mascara! I have sorta thicker long lashes and it clumped together like crazy AND it didn't hold a curl for shizz..
